Julia couldn’t find a ready-made cookie cutter for this unique pinwheel shape, so she cut out a template from cardboard and then traced around the edge and through the dough with a paring knife. Cutting out a small quantity of cookies is easy enough this way, but Julia recommends making your own custom cutter if you plan to bake an unusual shape in bulk.
